Awards

International Women’s Day Awards: These have been instituted by the Samiti for popularising the cause of the Girl Child and are presented on March 8, which is observed as International Women’s Day the world over.

National Awards

National Award for National Integration: This award is presented to an institution which has made substantial contribution for the cause of National Integration, and helping the Samiti in the implementation of its programmes. This award has been presented in the past to Birla VidyaNiketan, Hans Raj Model School and BalBharti Public School.

GulzariLal Nanda National Award for Best Social Worker: This award has been presented in the past to Mrs. Soli Sorabji, (Chairperson of the Baha’is Temple of Worship, New Delhi); KumariSurrendarSaini, President of the All India Federation of the Deaf and President of Delhi Pradesh Bharat SevakSamaj, and Shri J.H. Chinchalkar, President of the Bharatiya Adamjati SevakSangh.

Bhanumati Memorial National Mother’s Award: This award carries a cash award of Rs. 10,000. This award is given to a woman who, despite difficult financial and social circumstances, had educated her children and helped them to achieve a comfortable position in life. The Samiti solicits nominations, for the Award, from NGOs of various states and UTs.

Lt.-Governor’s Running Trophy: The Trophy and citation are presented for overall best performance in the fine and performing arts and literary competitions at Nehru BalMela.

BalMitra Awards: These awards are given to heads of educational institutions and other individuals who distinguish themselves in the spheres of Art and Culture and Academic Excellence and also extend support for Samiti’s projects in educational and social spheres.

Kala Shree Awards: These awards are presented to children who excel in painting competitions organized at the Annual BalMela.

New Awards set up from the year 1998-99: The following awards have been instituted from the year 1998.

NBS Bravery Awards: Children who perform real good brave deeds for protecting or saving the life of one or more individuals or a group from death or a tragedy, shall be considered for this award. A narration of the brave deed duly certified by the head of the institution (with photo-copies of press reports in this regard) may be sent to the Samiti for consideration of this Award latest by December each year.

Kala Mitra Award: Each institutional member of the Samiti can propose one art or music teacher with a short Bio-Data of the teacher concerned with his/her photograph and the deservedness of the nominee concerned. The selection committee shall make the final selections.
