Integrated Child and Women Development Centre in U.P. and Himachal Pradesh

The Samiti has been busy, over the last 3 years, in developing Integrated Child and Women Development Centre in village Galand in Distt. Ghaziabad (U.P.) and in village KwalagMajhar in Distt. Shimla (H.P.)

The Shimla Project will also provide Holiday Home facilities particularly for the children of the weaker sections on cross-subsidy basis.

Participatory Development Strategy

The Samiti has been successful in its efforts to develop most of its projects with the active participation and collaboration of several educational institutions of Delhi and nearby cities, as well as the local community, which have raised sizeable funds to give a practical shape to the Samiti’s Dream Projects for children.

The Samiti has established since 1992 (during the decade of the Nineties, dedicated by the SAARC for the Girl Child), the Centre of Excellence for the Girl Child, in TrilokpuriRehabiliation Colony of East Delhi. The Centre has inaugurated by the then First Lady, Smt. JanakiVenkataraman, in July 1992. Over the last 6 years, several adolescent girls have been trained in some job-oriented vocations like Cutting & Tailoring, Dress Designing, Mehndi Art Work, Beauty Culture and Toy/Doll Making. Several of the trainees have got their employment in commercial establishments and some have started self-employment ventures in their premises and earn reasonably well to contribute to their family income.
